You Can Now Enable Fingerprint Unlock on WhatsApp

In February this year, Facebook-owned WhatsApp added extra privacy features for iOS users that enabled users to unlock the app via fingerprint ID or Facial recognition.
Android users all over the world were waiting for the update, and finally, WhatsApp has sent out the feature to compatible Android devices. The update, however, does not appear to be available in all regions but that is just a matter of time.
The extra layer of security can be toggled via the app’s security settings. The users also get to choose how long the app will remain unlocked after authentication. The new settings also come with options to keep the contents of your messages from popping up in the notifications panel.
This feature for Android was previously reported by WABetaInfo in August. All Android smartphones with a fingerprint sensor are compatible with the feature. Unfortunately, unlike iOS devices, Android smartphones are not yet compatible with facial unlocking, since most phones use 2d face unlock using the front camera, which is less secure.
To activate the feature, follow these steps.
1.     Update your WhatsApp application from the play store.

2.     Go to settings.

3.     Open Account settings.

4.     Move to the Privacy options.

5.     Scroll down at the end of the page to view fingerprint settings.

SDRAM (DDR3 SDRAM)

Double data rate type three SDRAM (DDR3 SDRAM) is a type of synchronous dynamic random-access memory (SDRAM) with a high bandwidth ("double data rate") interface, and has been in use since 2007. It is the higher-speed successor to DDR and DDR2 and predecessor to DDR4 synchronous dynamic random-access memory (SDRAM) chips. DDR3 SDRAM is neither forward nor backward compatible with any earlier type of random-access memory (RAM) because of different signaling voltages, timings, and other factors.
DDR3 is a DRAM interface specification

China Takes Lead in Space Research with Largest Radio Telescope in the World

In hopes to hunt for extraterrestrial life and explore space, China has officially inaugurated the world’s largest radio telescope this Sunday,

Report by media outlet Xinhua, the 500-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST) was launched in China’s Guizhou province. The project has been completed after being proposed 17 years ago. FAST’s structure is estimated to cost around $180 million.

Xinhua report claims that in August, around 8,000 people were displaced from their homes to give birth to this project.

FAST covers the same amount of area as 30 football pitches and is made up of 4,450 panels. The displaced villagers were handsomely compensated as the Chinese government authorized $269 million for the reallocation budget.

The telescope is nicknamed Tianyan, or the Eye of Heaven. Compared to Arecibo Observatory, which was the previous largest single-dish radio telescope, Tianyan has double the sensitivity, 5-10 times the surveying speed and can accurately capture twice as much of the sky.

“By opening FAST to use by the broader international community, China is demonstrating its commitment to fostering astronomy as a global scientific enterprise,” said Douglas Vakoch, president of METI International. “For over a half century, astronomers have been using radio telescopes to answer the haunting question, ‘Are we alone?’ But astronomers face a daunting challenge: the signals they seek are so weak that an incredibly sensitive telescope is needed to detect them.”

“FAST’s innovative design and huge collecting area give it unsurpassed speed and sensitivity, making it vital to the search for extraterrestrial intelligence in the coming decades,” said Vakoch. “We can expect China to become a world leader in the search for extraterrestrial intelligence because of its demonstrated commitment in building FAST.”

This project can also allow the scientists to “detect gravitational waves, or ripples in space-time, from pairs of massive black holes,” since FAST possesses the capability to analyze and precisely measure the smallest of changes of pulsing rates of pulsars.
