My RDP Server does use
a username with an empty password. MY IOS app wont allow an empty password!
Are there any
workarounds?

We support a lot
companies and i am heavy user of RDP through my iPad. I do like using your App
for RDP Connections and the RDP Gateway feature. Is there a way you could write
in some code so that we group RDP connections together rather then all one group.

Just downloaded RDP
for my new iPad mini. (Thank god I still have itap rdp mobile on old iPad). And
of course immediately discovered the keyboard issue I even have trouble just
getting it to open. However, as a helpful suggestion to all my tech brothers
and sisters use the built in on screen keyboard in accessories instead (takes
up less room on the screen anyway), until Microsoft "fixes" this
problem.

-I could not
access my remoteapps via webfeed on iOS. The only thing that helped was to
delete the "remote desktop client" app on my iOS device and load it
again from the apple-store. (Just updating the app or reentering
webfeed credentials didn't help.)
-When i finally
managed to see my remoteapps via webfeed, i realised that only a few of my
webapps were displayed. Apparently, the "remote dektop client" app
doesn't display a remoteapp, when a space occurs in the alias-name of the
remoteapp.

This app connects
well to my Linux server but can't get the main keyboard to work. I think
there needs to be a compatibility setting for getting the keyboard to work
properly

Great app, still
working fine yet.
It would be great if
there is a posibility to import RDP connections from Dropbox and to create
folder to sort the connections into them.

Guter RDP-Client.
scrollen muss. Das wäre super.
Vielen Dank.
Top App!

Dear Remote Desktop
Client team:
You build a very solid
client, which needs only one thing - please, give us flexibility to setup
resolution of remote desktop connection!
Your default
resolution choice, when connecting using iPhone 6 (1368*768), is not a native
pixel resolution of the iPhone (1334*750). As a result, image on screen looks
blurry and harder to read. Pocket Cloud from WISE/Dell, which was EOLed today,
had this option from beginning, and difference in sharpness and clarity really
matters when using native screen resolution, instead of scaled.
Your Mac Client has an
option to connect to Desktop using screen resolution of client machine. Please,
give this option for iOS version as well.
Many thanks!

i have always defended
Microsoft in the passed but enough is enough how can they make this app work on

Is it possible to
connect to a RemoteApp using the iOS Remote Desktop App v8.0.9, across LAN and
VPN, with only the Remote Desktop Session Host service installed? That
is, without Remote Desktop Session Host, Connection Broker, or Remote Desktop
Gateway? The same way we can with a .rdp file?
We don't see any place
in the client to put the RemoteApp parameters into the iOS app.

I love this app and
was using it regularly before the last two updates, but since then it has been
unusable, which is a huge disappointment. What's worse is that it's taking so
long to fix and it seems a lot of people are very frustrated about this. In the
first update the mouse disappeared, so you couldn't click on anything, which
thankfully now appears to have been rectified. Now in this most recent update,
every time you try to access the keyboard the app crashes. It also will no
longer allow me to automatically connect with my computer and asks for a
password every time, which it never used to do. Very disappointing and
frustrating! Hope this all gets fixed soon!
10/16/2014
And again an update
and still not working.
the problem seems to
be related to a certificate warning that RDP can not "read"
rdp on Mac and Windows
do work after accepting the certificate, but on IOS it is still not working.
Other IOS apps like cloud service and x2 are able to connect to my old WHS.
before all the updates

Seriously, what
gives?!
Updated to 8.1.4 and
remote resources are still not working. MS is really dropping the ball on
this one, let's see how many channels I can communicate this through, before
someone actually sits up and listens.
I generally like MS
products, but my loyalty is fading fast. - Does anyone have a good Linux
alternative they can recommend?
10/10/2014
Since the App update,
the "Remote Resource Feed" and the "Remote Desktop" fails.
I realize that the new
update tries to resolve the PC host name instead of the gateway's!
Renaming the Pc host
name from FQDN to NetBIOS worked for the Remote Desktop, but the Remote
Resource Feed still fails.
10/9/2014
I have used JUMP
desktop that has a pen mode. We have an application that captures signatures
via rdp. This app only captures polled mouse coordinates not actual strokes.
When will you
implement a better pen mode that captures strokes for ipad - we also have
handwritten notes via rdp that just wont work with Microsoft RDP whereas Jump
desktop does.
IE the stroke is fully
captured before going to the remote computer.

First I have to say
this app worked great for me off a while, probably part of the reason I'm now
frustrated that I'm running into issues. I came to rely on the app for remote
administration, and now find myself fumbling with the app trying to complete simple
tasks.
The main issue, why
I'm posting, is since the last two updates, now on 8.1.4, the keyboard has
stopped working with certain applications.
The issue is the
alphabetical keys do not work or input into the active window, the space bar
and number keys are fine. I've mostly noticed this when trying to input into a
VMWare virtual machine through VM Workstation on my remote computer. Kind of a
pain because I can't unlock or login to my VM remotely. Even tried copy/paste
but that seems to be broken as well.
Overall the quality of
the app seems to have diminished with the last couple updates. The keyboard and
mouse functionality, probably the two most important features just seem quirky
and full of bugs.
10/7/2014
Haven't been able to
use the app for weeks because the mouse cursor has disappeared. Unfortunately
there are no settings to check whether it's disabled. I would love a fix for
this.
10/7/2014
When are we going to
have the ability to decide the screen resolution for the connection?
Apps like iTap RDP
have this and more ages ago.
10/4/2014
I've using the app
from the very first version and it has been working very good and many bugs
have been fixed.
From my point I'm just
missing one specific feature: the ability to store credentials WITHOUT the
password.
Now I need to type in
the username every time or store the complete credentials, where as only
storing the password will keep my login still secure, but without the need to
type in the (long) username every time I connect to the server.
10/1/2014
The app passes through
the gateway, but the Session Host(AKA Terminal) server gets junk for
authentication:

8.1.4 still not
working this fix has not sorted out the ongoing problem using resources from
Remote Desktop

Our users are
experiencing an issue where the application crashes when they attempt to use
the keyboard feature. Connecting works fine, but for now our users are having
to run the on-screen keyboard as a work-around. For those of you having
issues with the mouse becoming invisible, you can change the mouse to
"tap" mode so it works like a normal touch display (which in my
opinion, should be the default).
Microsoft Remote Desktop Developers,
If you can affirm that you are working on these issues, it would help us out in being able to reassure our users that a fix is on the way.
Thanks,

Actually, it worked
fine for about a day on friday last week, but with recent update.... :-(
Not good enough!!

stop releasing interm
fixes.
iOS 8 has nothing to
do with it not working. It hasn't worked for 2 Weeks.
I'm a small IT shop
and have with less than 400 client endpoints. I have 60 + that can't use iPads
to connect for the last 2 weeks.
Apple duped Microsoft
into believing that they had to make changes before iOS 8 was released and the
result is that now corporate IT must turn to Non Microsoft products to
facilitate remote users connecting from Apple products.
You have a hole in
your ship Microsoft. Plug it!
9/29/2014
Connecting to 2003 R2
64x just before iOS 8 update and after, all good. After RD Clinent update
to make "iOS 8 a better experience" no connection. I have tryed
the same settings in muliple different ways (like Admin off and on) and I still
can't connect. This is on a ipad 3 on ios 8. I entered the same
settings on a 2012 Google nexus using Droid 4.4.4 and Rd Clinent connects every
time! What gives? PLEASE UPDATE THIS UPDATE, OR JUST REVERT
IT!
Update, version 8.1.4
on 9/28/2014 still will not connect. Found RDC thinstuff on App Store,
will connect just fine (thank goodness!).
9/28/2014
Experienced a problem
from 8.3.x. I use an old non-Unicode application on 2003 server. When I try to
print text use national language (Russian), the text appears as question marks
(?????????) in the input fields - until I doesn't manually change keyboard layout
at the server from En to Ru use mouse cursor. In Unicode applications keyboard
input works ok and manual layout changing not needs.
In earlier 8.x and in
iTap keyboard input worked correctly with non-Unicode apps.
9/28/2014
I'm so glad I didn't
update to iOS 8 ... I expected it would be like the iOS 7 update, where half my
apps stopped working.
9/27/2014
Irritating message
9/26/2014
up until version
8.0.7, this was a great product to use and free then we had 8.1.0 and things
when wrong for a lot of people. We then had 2 more updates in quick succession
that still didn't fix the issue. As far as I am aware microsoft have gone very
quiet on any new update coming out so I just wonder if they have stopped
supporting remote users on server 2008 and just forgot to let us know?
can anyone recommend
an alternative app I could use please
9/23/2014

3rd party apps to Remote Desktop my Windows 2003 Server!
9/22/2014
Since upgrading to
version 8.1.0, launching programs via the "Remote Resource Feed" has
stopped working. It works to the point of displaying the programs that are
published as part of the remote resource feed, but when you try to start one
you get the message "We couldn't connect to the remote PC. Make sure the
PC is turned on and connected to the network, and that remote access is
enabled. If this keeps happening ask your admin or tech support for help".
All on a black background with a nice red cancel button. Worked perfectly with
the previous version. Absolutely no changes on our all-in-one 2012R2
rdwebaccess / gateway / remote session host server. Access via a windows PC and
web browser still works fine. Version 8.1.3 hasn't fixed the problem. Such a pity
as this was previously a really good and productive app. Luckily we hadn't
started rolling out to schools. The instructions had just been written for the
previous version - so they'll need rewriting now. Just updated one iPad by
chance the day after and, blow me down, the app no longer worked!
9/18/2014
I just updated my iPad
and the app. Cannot make any connections to my Windows Server 2008 R2. Please
fix.
9/17/2014
Mouse wheel gesture
stopped working with 8.1 and still does not work. Tried lots of things (finger
spacing, tap speed, slide speed, etc.)
9/16/2014
Please fix this!
RDP no longer works through my 2012 gateway server after updating to
8.1.3
9/16/2014
Are you guys testing
the app before releasing?
9/15/2014
This app has worked
without any major issues on both our gateway farms ( one 2008 R2 and the other
2012 R2). Since the update I can only connect through the 2008 R2 gateways. The
2012 R2 gateways report policy issues computer and user account. RDP on Windows
8.1 connects through either gateway without issue.
9/15/2014
please fix. the app is
rendered useless
9/15/2014
Sorry guys but this
still don't work we need the old version back please
9/15/2014
8.1.3 Still broken.
Bring back the old please!
9/15/2014
Cannot connect WHS
(windows server 2003) on LAN.
9/15/2014
Downloaded v8.1.2
hoping that my connection to RemoteApps (ts server farm) would start working
again, it stopped working when I updated to v8.1.0, but still no connection. It
just says preparing resources and then when I try to re-enter the settings it says
can not connect with a configure button. Can you please re-release the previous
working version, and give some indication on when a fix will be available.
Thanks. (This suddenly stopping working is a pain when you have hundreds of
people relying on it. Especially with no workaround or timescale...)
9/13/2014
The issue with
connection to rdweb is still present
we use rdweb on win
2008r2
9/13/2014
Please can you make
version 8.0.8 available to download on App Store until you have fixed these
issues as I need remote access from my iPad
thanks in
advance
9/13/2014
Just downloaded RD
version 8.1.2 and I still can't connect to the works server from my iPad thank
god I didn't upgrade the directors iPads at the same time. Does anyone have a
fix to get iPads working again?

9/13/2014
Whs that is windows

accessible. Earlier version worked and other apps work Please fix.

V 8.1 no longer works
on my IPad . Why? It was working perfectly before this most recent update. All
extremely annoying as to be able to interface with my office system by way of
one click on the RD app. was a fantastic support. Now very disillusioned with
Microsoft. RG 13/9/14

If a remote app is
contained within a folder and you tap on the folder, the containing shortcuts
are not displayed correctly. You only see a small part. No problem on iPad 4.
Problem with screen
resolution I suppose?
9/12/2014
Desktops existing
prior to the 8.1 upgrade continue to work with 8.1. However, when trying
to connect to a newly added desktop, I get the following:
We couldn't connect to
the remote PC. Make sure the PC is turned on and connected to the
network, and that remote access is enabled. If this keeps happening, ask
your admin or tech support for help.
Any ideas?

8.1.0 broke the rdweb
feed connection to our 2008r2 RDWeb
9/11/2014
I need the keyboard
for special characters like CTRL which is not on the iPad mini I use.
Those special characters are needed to interface with a 3270 emulation
software which I use on the PC to which I remote. For alphanumeric chars
sent to the emulation software I was able to use my bluetooth connected
keyboard. With the last update, I can no longer use the bluetooth
keyboard. Not only that but if I try to use the keyboard that comes with
the RDP app, I can get function keys and numbers but there seems to be no
way to get alphabetical keys. If I press on the ABC tab in the virtual
keyboard, the keyboard disappears. If I turn off bluetooth and try to use the
iPad's native virtual keyboard, nothing I type in is registered in the
3270 emulation window. It does work in standard Windows software like
Outlook.
But without being able
to interface with my 3270 emulation software through a remote connection to my
PC on my iPad the RDP app is now completely useless for me.

Remote apps hosted on
2008 R2 not working in latest client update.
9/11/2014
Since the last update,
Our Remote resource feed is mal fonctionning.
Remote App on Server
2012 work fine.
Remote App on Server
2008 are not showing anymore. But still working fine from Windows 7
Workstation. Added using:
http://www.concurrency.com/blog/rds8-add-a-2008-r2-session-host/
and it was
working perfectly before.
VDI with Windows 7
give error : "Your session ended because of an error. This might be due to
an expired password. If this keeps happening, ask your admin or tech support
for help." Still working from a Windows 7 workstation and it was
working perfectly before.
Can anyone help, this is this is embarrassing.
I'm system
administrator and the one who configured everything and was very pleased of how
it worked so far, just before that update.
9/10/2014
With the newest
version (8.1.0), the login name and domain are casted to small letters, whereas
my server requires the domain to be in full caps. Can this be solved?
9/9/2014
Finding that the new
8.1.0 client returns: "The publishing server has encountered an error,
please try again." Error appears with 2008 R2 with Gateway setup. Error
does not appear in similar Server 2012 setup.

Error connecting to

Hi,
Just noticed if you're
using a remote app you are unable in Direct Touch mode to right click an item,
but you can right click in Mouse Pointer mode. If you are not using remote app
you are able to right click in Direct Touch mode. Is anyone having the same
issue and is there somewhere I can report the bug?
Kind Regards
Kyle

We would love to see
support for the Bluetooth scanners, such as Socket Mobile scanners.

iPhone now works but
not the ipad...
7/29/2014
This worked great for
us, up through the past few releases. Nothing changed on the config of our
server, but now we get log errors of "Server Error in '/RDWeb/Feed'
Application" and "The resource cannot be found. Description:
HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could
have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled
correctly." Our server is a 2008 R2 RDS server using RemoteApp.
Logging in via the RemoteApp web interface works fine, but via iOS it only
shows 3 of the 12 published applications (all 3 launch). There does not seem to
be any logic behind why it will show just those 3 and not the others, in terms
of path, user groups, etc.. The error(s) I'm seeing in the iOS log are as
follows:
Requested URL:
/rdweb/feed/rdweb/feed/webfeed.aspx
(Not sure why iOS is
repeating the path, but the webfeed.aspx is located in
C:\Windows\Web\RDWeb\Feed)

I am noticing this
same issue:
"Since updating
to 8.0.7.24870 on our company iOS devices, it crashes if you're connecting via
the gateway"
"No issues on
Windows or OSX client"
6/20/2014
Hi, I'm using a french
canadian localized iPhone and iPad but RDP for iOS must think i'm using a
french AZERTY keyboard and it makes the use of this app really difficult. I
tried few tricks i've seen online to ignore remote connection keyboard with no
luck. The problem seem to be the app not applying the keyboard setting in
function on the connecting device.
Thanks for your help
6/17/2014
I cannot get this to
work with Windows 2012 R2 RDS on my iPad. I have tried adding the RDweb URL and
I have tried connecting via Safari and then "Open with" I choose the
RDP client, but it always fails. Any ideas?
Thanks.
6/10/2014
The great thing about
this app is that it allows use of an RDS gateway...
At least, it did...
Since updating to
8.0.7.24870 on our company iOS devices, it crashes if you're connecting via the
gateway (published through a TMG server)
Works fine over VPN or
when connected to the LAN by WiFi (even when forced through the gateway, but
bypassing TMG)
No issues on Windows
or OSX client, and the old iTap client that the new MS one is
based on still works...

How can I change
screen resolution? 1024x768 is too small for my iPad Air.

Very good remote
desktop app i'd ever used!
However, a error was
detected with typing Korean. That is, when I type '받침', then it works like
'바ㄷ치ㅁ'. Maybe it doesn't understand the final consonant of Korean
letter.
If this error was
fixed, this app would be the best remote desktop app. Please fix it ASAP. Thank
you!!

Just downloaded this
app and for some reason a single tap is a right click and a two finger tap is a
left click - help?

Any idea how to set
the language settings and keyboard settings on the ios for right usage on a
terminal server? With external and internal keyboard bad results... Did
Microsoft test this application with other regional settings as US? Our
settings are English IOS and swiss french keyboard.... Oh good old Itap....
4/1/2014
Have not found a way
to set the screen resolution on the iPad. It defaults to 1024x768, even though
iPad has Retina. Would be nice to crank it up slightly (say to 1280 x ???). I
was able to do this on iTap RDP, but the App is no longer supported.
3/24/2014
Good app , but i have
dificulty to resize panel with double arrow??
3/21/2014
Need to have folders
to separate between sites.
3/17/2014
That Azerty/qwerty
keyboard problem on French Canadian keyboard is really annoying!! Microsoft
should release a fix for this!!!
2/21/2014
Nice app, but it would
really help if I can cut and paste from iPad to RD and RD to iPad.
2/12/2014
A very good app! But
if I can use my iPhone as a mouse to control the iPad RDC, that will be more
wonderful (I already have the bluetooth keyboard).
Will you plan to develop the mouse app (It's name may be Microsoft Remote Desktop Mouse for iOS) to assist the RDP app? If so, we will have the external mouse on mobile phone, it's so perfect and crazy.

The computer I want to
remote to utilizes two monitors, is there a way to toggle between the two
screens when remotely connected?
1/30/2014
We utilise user
certificates as added security for our RDP connections. This works fine for
users working on windows desktops or laptops but we want to roll it out to our
iPad users. This app does not appear to support user certificates at the moment
- is there any plans to make this functionality available?
1/13/2014
As I can se you have
the possibillity for using peripheral devices like the keyboard mentioned on
your iOS device.
It would be most
interesting to get peripheral connection for bluetooth mouse in the RDP
app, maybe limiting first to your own range of bluetooth devices like Microsoft
Wedge Touch mouse.
If you have mouse and
keyboard control for the RDP app i see that the usability get much higher.
Looking forward to
hear from you.

Is there a method with
this app in iOS so that users sitting at the remote computer can see what
you're doing for example when providing tech support. Or if you want to use the
iPad as a glorified remote control when showing presentations etc.

What happened to the
start program on login option? the original application had this before its
purchase and it worked well.
I know our new servers
all have properly published apps but it is still very useful for some of the
older machines or apps not specifically published. Please stop taking features
out of things its driving me mad.
12/13/2013
I'm using Remote
Desktop Client on an iPad having its keyboard configured as French Canadian
Qwerty. However, when using the application, the keyboard acts as a French
Azerty keyboard, despite the fact that the display shows a Qwerty keyboard...
12/8/2013
hope you can embedded
it with Wake On LAN ,it's ridiculous to download another app merely to wake up
the computer
12/6/2013
The app itself works
great but Microsoft, will you ever learn that French Canadian doesn't uses
azerty keyboard ?
i need to run my
iphone in english for it to work properly. You bought the best rdp client on
ios to make this, put your purchase to good use.
i second on removing
the connection bar.
12/6/2013
...enable hiding the "connection bar" in the next update. It uglies up an otherwise beautiful screen.
12/1/2013
If you need to use a
custom port type the ip address where asked and put ":" then the
port. Such as 123.123.0.1:1234
11/17/2013
How do I connect to
Remote Desktop using custom port? There is no ":" sign in connection
manager.
11/4/2013
Point and some other
special symbols can't enter, at least on server 2012 r2
10/24/2013
So far I like it. The
only problem that I have is from a security standpoint. Now there may be a
better way to do this but I have yet to find a way. Under the configuration
section > Remote Resources I enter our Server's URL and then you have to
enter credentials. This can be a security issue since it's single sign on,
which our users will love. I know the user should have their iPads locked and
we enforce that by pushing policies through AirWatch to do so. So could there
be an option to have a check box to have users be prompted to enter their
credentials?
